shannon + chris

When these two reached out to us to photograph their wedding, they were only just getting started and their wedding date was about 4 months away. Yes, you heard that right. They planned their entire day in 4 months. It was initially going to be a pretty small wedding anyway, but after covid restrictions changed the game even more, it got smaller.

It ended up being a super sweet and intimate wedding in a local studio (@thesundaystudio) that had the most beautiful high ceilings and rustic feel to it. A small ceremony followed by a cocktail hour style reception and they’re finishing up with a backyard bbq to replace their originally planned reception and I just love seeing how everyone has adapted over these two years. It really shows and proves that your love and the marriage itself will always be the most important part, and if you want to do it - it’s going to get done.

They had absolutely gorgeous flowers and greenery around the studio, flowers @bywildwood and a wonderful wedding planner Loyda @modrnfunctions who made the day as smooth as butter. Isn’t it just great being a wedding vendor? I swear there is this undeniable bond you have at weddings with people you only met 5 minutes ago. Coming together to make something magical really makes a friendship grow quickly.

Chris just couldn’t keep it together during the ceremony and had to pause for a quick hug because his bride just looked so damn pretty. He also tried to give his right hand instead of left for the rings s.o… honestly who said your ceremony has to be super stiff and serious? Be yourselves, it makes it way more fun. We also may have possibly had too much fun before finishing off the night with the couple portraits and wedding party but the photos speak for themselves LOL

We had such a great time working with these two, from our initial meeting to the engagement session (fully injured my foot in their house and I don’t think you can end a friendship after bleeding all over their floor… right?) and meetings over beers at Moose Winooski’s where we could barely hear each other. Thank you for having us and we can’t wait to capture your special milestones from this point forward. Cheers to the Fields!
