Hi! I’m Alyson - if you’re here, you may already know me as 1/2 of @jamesandalysonphoto. But if not, I can’t wait to get to know each other! This is a new little adventure I am taking on my very own and what a beautiful adventure it’s going to be.

To be completely honest with you, I have always been a confident person. Never cocky, but always okay. After having my second baby girl (Olivia, the absolute angel) things really took a turn for me. I wasn’t seeing what everyone else was seeing when I looked in the mirror. No matter who said I “looked great” or liked my instagram photo, it was just never there for me. I hid away, I didn’t even enjoy taking photos with my family anymore. I started looking at boudoir photos and telling myself I would do them. I would bite the bullet and just do it. All of these other women do it and say they’re so empowered after right? I didn’t do it. I decided I wanted to see the change first hand from the outside in. I did a day of boudoir sessions, six absolutely stunning ladies who came in nervous. I was the one to hype them up. I was the one who helped them see what they didn’t initially see. After seeing them grow into their confidence over an hour shoot, I don’t think I will ever be able to look back. The feeling of being the one to give that feeling to someone, the reactions when they see their photos for the first time, that’s so amazing to me. After seeing what it did for them… I did it. I had my husband do my boudoir photos. They gave me the courage to do it myself and I’m so glad I did. Now I understand.
